Discover Lithuanian Textile Heritage

Authentic folk pattern workshops in the heart of Kaunas

Traditional Lithuanian textile workshop with folk pattern looms and artisan craftsmanship

Where Tradition Meets Modern Craft

Sphippen Digital Services Ltd celebrates centuries-old Lithuanian textile traditions

We're dedicated to preserving the intricate art of Lithuanian folk textile patterns. What started as a passion for traditional weaving techniques has grown into a thriving community of craftspeople and enthusiasts. Our workshops in Kaunas aren't just about learning stitches and patterns — they're about connecting with a living heritage that's been passed down through generations.

Each pattern tells a story. The geometric designs, the symbolic colors, the careful placement of every thread — it's all meaningful. We've spent years studying these traditional methods, and we're excited to share what we've learned. Our instructors don't just teach techniques. They explain the history, the cultural significance, and the reasons why our ancestors chose these specific patterns.

Whether you're completely new to textile work or you've been sewing for years, you'll find something valuable in our workshops. We believe that traditional crafts shouldn't be locked away in museums. They're alive, they're practical, and they're absolutely beautiful when you know what you're looking at.

What We Teach

Core textile skills rooted in authentic Lithuanian traditions

Traditional Weaving

Learn to work with authentic looms using methods that have remained virtually unchanged for centuries. We cover setup, tension, and pattern execution on both simple and complex looms.

Folk Pattern Embroidery

Master the distinctive cross-stitch patterns that define Lithuanian textile art. Each design carries cultural meaning and requires precision, patience, and understanding of color theory.

Natural Dyes

Discover how traditional dyers created colors from local plants. We'll show you which materials produce which hues and how to prepare and apply them properly.

Design & Pattern Composition

Understand the underlying principles of traditional Lithuanian pattern design. Learn how symbols combine, how to adapt patterns, and how to create your own variations.

Finishing Techniques

Transform your finished textile into wearable art. Binding, hemming, mounting, and preservation techniques that ensure your work lasts generations.

Historical Context

Every technique comes with a story. We'll teach you the history behind the patterns and understand what makes Lithuanian textile traditions unique in European folk art.

Our Workshop Approach

Hands-on learning in an authentic creative environment

We run small groups — never more than 8 people per session. That means everyone gets individual attention and nobody's waiting for help. You're not just following along with a video. You're working directly with experienced craftspeople who've spent years mastering these techniques.

The workshops happen in our Kaunas studio, which is set up exactly how a traditional textile workspace should be. We've got looms ranging from simple floor looms to more complex table looms. All the materials you need are provided, though many students bring their own threads once they find their preferred colors and textures.

Most importantly, we believe you learn textile work by doing it. Not by reading about it or watching someone else do it. You'll be working with your hands from the first session, and we'll guide you through every step.

Why sphippen Digital Services Ltd Stands Apart

We're not just teaching skills. We're preserving cultural heritage.

Authentic Instruction

Our instructors aren't reading from a script. They're practitioners who've studied these techniques extensively and continue to refine their craft. You're learning from people who genuinely care about getting it right.

Cultural Depth

Every pattern has meaning. Every color choice matters. We teach you not just the mechanics of weaving or embroidery, but the cultural story behind every technique and design element.

Small Group Focus

We keep groups small because textile work requires attention to detail. Everyone gets feedback, everyone's questions get answered, and nobody feels rushed through the learning process.

Kaunas Location

We're based right in Kaunas, the heart of Lithuanian cultural tradition. This location isn't accidental — it's central to our identity and our connection to the living heritage we're preserving.
