Lithuanian Folk Pattern Fundamentals
Start here if you want to understand the story behind the
patterns. We walk you through the history, regional variations,
and symbolism of traditional Lithuanian textiles in a relaxed,
small-group setting. You'll learn to recognize patterns from
different parts of Lithuania and understand why certain colors
and designs matter culturally.
Knitting Traditional Patterns
Perfect if you already know how to knit and want to level up
with authentic folk patterns. Our sessions run twice weekly for
90 minutes each, covering color work, stranded knitting, and how
to read traditional pattern charts. By the end, you'll be able
to create wearables—socks, sweaters, hats—that genuinely reflect
Lithuanian heritage.
Sewing Folk Textile Projects
Turn fabric into finished pieces using traditional sewing
techniques. Whether you're making decorative items, traditional
garments, or modern projects with folk-inspired patterns, we'll
show you proper finishing, hand-stitching methods, and how to
work with both modern and natural fabrics the way craftspeople
have for generations.
Natural Dyes & Color Traditions
Discover how traditional Lithuanian dyers created colors from
plants, roots, and minerals. In this workshop series, you'll
experiment with natural dyeing methods still used today,
learning which plants produce which shades and how to achieve
the characteristic colors you see in historical textiles.
